If not installed properly your Bathroom ceiling fan can leak. How does this happen? The main function of a bath fan is to remove the moisture from the bathroom to the outside of the home. When it Freezes outside this can cause the moisture in the flex piping to freeze in the attic. When it thaws out it will drip out the fan itself. One quick way to prevent this is to make a P-trap out of the flex piping in the attic. Make sure the p-trap is below the insulation to prevent it from freezing. More insulation may be required around the trap. This will allow the small amount of moisture to evaporate properly and not leak through the fan itself.
